Dora Chu was supposed to follow her parents into the sciences. You know, the normal childhood expectation of, “Sweetie, send people to other planets one day.” But Dora already felt like she lived on another planet, so the math didn’t quite add up.

Growing up in Dallas under a strict Asian dad, Dora learned early what it felt like to look sideways and wonder what somebody else’s life meant about her own. Years later, through ministry, healing, fashion, NYFW, Paris Haute Couture and celebrity interviews, she realized how universal that experience was.

No matter the room, people compare.

Today, Dora is a Comedic Perspective Coach who uses humor, storytelling and practical coaching to help people catch that hidden verdict and create a Perspective UPshift without letting somebody else’s life define their own.

And because this is Dora, those ideas come with characters, fashion and plenty of comedy, including a strict Asian Dad who thinks she needs fewer eyelashes and more patents, and a posh French Hostess who believes emotional intelligence is a cheese.

Alongside comedian and musician Colten Winburn, Dora turns this work into an integrated comic-musical experience. Colten exposes the feeling, Dora reveals the meaning, and together they make perspective change something audiences can see, hear and feel.
